On my computer every three minutes (estimated) there is a random Blue Screen that pops up, making me restart my whole computer. I tried deleting GW thinking it might help, but it didn't, and now I do not have time to reinstall it before it does this Screen again. Any ideas on how to fix it? Leave a reply. Thanks for the help!

try starting your computer in safe mode. If you do not have problems there, it is likely due to an application on your computer. If it still does this in safe mode, either your hardware is messed up our your windows files are corrupted. Try using the small amount of time before it crashes to back up any important files onto a flash drive or what have you, then re partition your drive and re install windows. This is done by inserting the windows installer cd, and booting the computer up. If it does not load the cd, you need to go into the BioS, (where the computer first boots up, might say hit F2 to enter setup), and change the boot drive to the cd-drive.

I can't really tell you what i want in english, but lets give it a shot...
You either have to start your computer in safe mode, and delete the virus (Blue Death), or clear your whole computer.

I had a blue death too like a year ago, and i tuke it to a computer guy at my father's office. He somehow tuke my computer into a previous state, when my computer didnt have a blue death. He also saved the datas and everything, i didnt have to reinstall anything. I think you should do the same.

When the Blue Screen appears you can also see an error message and on the bottom of that some random numbers which goes along the lines 0x0000000000 0x000000000 0x0000000000 0x0000000000.

Try writing it down and then post it here, it will help even if you just google it.

if you can verify that it is not a hardware problem the fun starts. last time I dealt with this it wasn't hardware related, it was just mal-ware that took over the screen saver. was harmless, but a real pain in the ass. If I remember right I did a search for all picture formats. it just so happened the actual blue screen was just a .jpg being run via screen saver. forgot all the details, but once that .jpg was deleted it was easy to kill the mal-ware.

as stated try booting in safe mode. check your ram via memtest. run your AV/spyware apps (in safemode) and see what happens.

the reason I think it's mal-ware is because when a system bsod's it will restart itself.

a blue screen can mean anything between bad drivers or failing hardware. btw flubber, some computers are set to NOT restart on BSOD's, so you cannot rule that it is malware.

unless changed by the user it is set (factory, bios, if i remember correctly.) to restart. that's the whole purpose of a bsod. to stop (any) further damage and create a log of problem. I've yet to run into a 'stock' computer where it was set otherwise (reboot upon bsod).

I can't remember if it's a service that has to be disabled. if enabled it will create a log. again I can't even remember what you need to read the log created. I think it is a debug tool d/l'd via MS (if using a windows OS)

and yes it can be many things...if he's lucky it's something simple. just gotta do the most obvious.

if you have 3minutes time that might be enough to initiate a quick restore.... presuming that you have not disable that feature in Windows. Going back to a System Restore Point that was before you started having the BSODs might fix it and you won't have to re-install everything either.

Is the blue screen blank or does it contain text? If the latter, post it here. It should look similar to this;

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bd1cbc87, parameter3 b7c8aa9c, parameter4 00000000.

If it's blank, you need to enable error reporting. Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Error reporting > Enable. Reboot, wait for another blue screen and write down the error code.

You could also try righting clicking My Computer > Manage > System Tools > Event Viewer > System. Look for errors under the Type column, if any, double click the latest error. It could give you an indication of the source of the problem e.g driver error, hardware error etc.

My computer does this as well on occasion. I have found that it is a problem with overheating. I take my box out in the garage and get out my air compressor and blow out the fans on the graphics card, box and processor and then blow the box out and things work fine after that. This might explain why it will run for awhile and then turn off. Overheating!!

Go into C:\Windows\Minidump and get the dump files. Zip them (7z preferred) and host them on a file sharing service. I'll look at them and tell you where the problem lies.
